FAMILY SAFARIS - with safariBwana |
| spoil
your whole family with the best south africa has to offer
|
| Our
family safaris are such a success because I am a fanatical hunter
while my wife really doesn't care much for it! So while I'm out
in the field selecting properties with good trophies, she's working
at the stuff women and kids appreciate because she knows what
it's like to be a wife with a hunting-mad husband.
She likes the finer
things in life and gets me to include them in all our family trips.
That's why our family
safaris are complete journeys, indulging everyone in the group
in the wonderful hunting and holiday opportunities South Africa
has to offer. Our safaris are not merely a trip to a game ranch
they are an adventure through South Africa taking in the best
trophies and luxuries each region has to offer.
Schedules are designed
around the trophies you intend to hunt and this will have an effect
on the safari duration and routing. Each hunting region has its
own unique activities and attractions for non-hunters. Below we
have listed the different regions, the trophies they are known
for and the other activities you can enjoy.
|
| zululand |
| The
nucleus of the powerful Zulu nation. Steeped in the history of the
fearsome warrior King Shaka, this is one of the most remote and
undeveloped regions of the country. The pulse of rural life goes
on unchanged and the people retain their deep rooted cultural past.
There is
excellent game viewing in the many game reserves - both Hluhluwe
and Umfolozi were instrumental in saving the White and Black Rhino
from extinction. This is South Africa's best birding region with
Mkuze, Ndumo and Tembe Elephant Parks best suited to birders with
many hides and forest walks.
World heritage
site, St Lucia Wetland has water-based game viewing and birding,
river cruises and excellent fishing and scuba diving. The surrounding
sand forests and mangrove swamps are pristine.
Tembe
Elephant Park’s impenetrable sand forests have sheltered Africa's
last big tuskers from early ivory hunters and modern poachers.
To see our biggest pachyderms, Tembe tops the list. |

is dense providing good opportunities for walk and stalk
hunting.

territory. Each day hunters will go out and get on with
what they do best while non-hunters can relax at the
lodge or try:
-
Game
viewing for the Big 5 at the nearby reserves

Elephant
and Rhino tracking on foot

| the
cape |
|
The coastal belt of South Africa is probably the most visited area
in the country. The Eastern Cape sees a great number of 'package'
hunters each year and the Western Cape draws more tourists. However,
there are hunting ranches which offer some extremely challenging
hunting. Bird hunting for a variety of upland birds and waterfowl
is excellent. The scenic beauty and vast choice of non-hunting activities
makes this a good start (or end) to any safari. |
