Let's face it, many people living and hunting in the Western world do not know all that much about the real Africa. The first mistake is to believe that Africa acts as one entity! Yet sadly most people think of Africa as one and talk of it as one...

Sure they know about Africa - they know about children in north Africa who are dying of starvation...they know about the savage rebels of Congo and Sierra Leone...they know about the tragic genocides in Rwanda and Burundi...they know of South Africa's high murder and rape rate...they know that for every second that passes in Africa, four children are born with HIV...it's all horrifically true- CNN, BBC and 60 Minutes would not lie.

There are also many stories, from the classical novels and accounts of the great white hunters to the modern day safari hunters who believe Africa is as simple and easy to read as their native country and offer advice at every opportunity.

Africa is not simple, she is not like any other continent and most of all, she beats to the rhythm of her own drums. No forced 'democracy' or 'aid money' is going to change the manner of her people's ways. As much as many would like to control her, they soon find tried and tested notions failing or completely ineffective. Her non-conformity to Western ways is precisely why you can hunt where few people have ventured, this is what has kept Africa uncertain and wild.

From game-rich private ranches and reserves to the open savannahs and dense forests, Africa's many varied species are both challenging and unique. They are also widely dispersed, in countries totally unique to their neighbors.

You can't truthfully say you have been to Africa if you spend 14 days hunting in one country. You can say you have hunted that country...........but please don't think you have hunted Africa........... she is far too precious and unique!

Our goal is to outline the very best in hunting opportunities for some of her many countries. While we are not the complete authority, we do give you most of the information that you need to get out there and enjoy the adventure! (we welcome your additions, disagreements and comments, so don't stay silent, let us know what you think!)
